Sea lions resting at La Loberia beach, San Cristóbal

La Lobería Beach & Sea Lion Colony Coastal Sanctuary

Crescent-shaped coral sand beach hosting a massive nursery colony of Galapagos sea lions and colossal marine iguanas.

Located minutes from Puerto Baquerizo Moreno, La Lobería is home to one of Galapagos' most energetic sea lion colonies. Pups romp playfully in protected shallows while dominant beachmasters patrol the surf. A rocky path continues to scenic ocean cliffs frequented by swallow-tailed gulls and Nazca boobies.

From August to December, newborn sea lion pups populate the nursery shallows, eager to splash beside snorkelers.
